Hey guys,
I would like to share with you an article in The New York Times. It talks about the economy in Germany. According to this article, the German Prime Minister, Angela Merkel, is promoting a economy packege to help business and boost economy through a reduction in taxes. This is very unusual for Gemans. They are seen in Eurepe as the model of traditional conservatism when it comes to talk about economics. They, always, have privileged savings and higher taxes when there exists a deficil in the government budget. This time, the government is traying to do something similiar to what U.S. did for its economy a year ago. There are many Germans that are not confortable with this idea; however, its interesting to see how the currents crisis is pushing governments to think on non-traditional ways to solve the world economic crisis.
Also, I would like to say thank you! to all of you for reading and comment my posts. I think this has been a great opportunity to learn something new (in my case) and I hope all of us can use and take advantage of this internet tool that can improve future businesses. Good luck to everyone.

Health care reform
This last Nov 7, the house of representatives approved the Obamas' Health care plan. A total of 220 representatives voted in favor and 215 against the reform. The fact is that Obamas' Administration won a political battle in the Congress. Now the final dicussion and decision is in the Senate. It seems that is going to be very difficult to pass the 1.1 trillion reform to health care system in U.S., but the debate is there.
Certainly, this is a very polemic topic for north americans; however, I would like to highlight one of the principal values of democracy, tolerance. Either way the health care reform ends, I think that democracy will win at the end. This has to be point out because in an intent to reform health care in U.S. for the last 75 years, I think that the only winner is the people and the democracy that proves once again is the only sistem that garanty everybody rights.

Halloween parties
I would like to comment about the halloween parties on this last weekend. It seems that, as every year, halloween college student parties were very big. I could go to a couple of parties during the weekend and what you can see mostly everywhere is a lot of alcohol and preaty much a lot of drunk people who causes a lot of damages. For example, in one party one gay was so drunk that broke a window that ended over a car that was parked on the street. Luckly, there were any consecuences besides the monetary costs.
I think that in many causes there are no control from students themselves. This is very sad since it is supposed that college students are getting an education and therefore it is expected they to react as educated people that are aware of dangers and are responsible for their actions. It was sad, for instance, to see many students completly drunk asleep throwed up over the halls of houses. I think that there should be more control over the parties not only from authorities and also from the students themselves trying to not lose consciousness about the situation.
